Berean Baptist Family Fellowship
Church History
2002-2022

Having just celebrated it’s 19th Church Anniversary in November 2021, Berean Baptist Family Fellowship remains committed to being a bible teaching, bible believing church where God and His Word reign supreme. The mission of Berean is to win souls to Christ through teaching, witnessing, serving, nurturing, and stewardship for the advancement of God’s Kingdom.

While there are many highlights in the life the church, none can be compared to the times when the church responded to the great commission found in Mathew: 28: 18-19

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Over the past decade many souls have come to Christ and been baptized. The mission and purpose of Berean is not to just fill the pews with people, but to fill the pews with believers whose faith in Jesus the Christ is transforming our community!

Transforming lives for the advancement of God’s Kingdom has always been the vision of Berean. Under the power and leading of the Holy Spirit, a small group of believers gather together on Saturday April, 6, 2002 at the home of Reverend David and Clyersa Cooper, in Quarts Hills California, to give birth to a Christ centered, family focused ministry serving the needs of the Santa Clarita Valley. This ministry would be a bible teaching, bible believing church that would serve the spiritual needs of an increasingly diverse group of believers moving to the Santa Clarita Valley.

Following the pattern of the early church found in Acts 2:41-47, this small group of believers prayerfully named the church Berean Baptist Family Fellowship.

The name Berean was selected to convey the desire of the members to be like the saints in Berea found in Acts 17: 11: These believers were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether the teaching of Paul were correct.

Although the church was founded in April 2002, the doors of the church officially opened on Sept. 15, 2002. Between April and September, letters were sent out to friends and neighbors in the Santa Clarita Valley to gather support for the new ministry. The first official service opened with 5 families and a host of friends and neighbors. Having had a blessed time, one person rededicated herself to Christ and the first official member of the church was added. This movement of God gave confirmation to God’s ordination of this new ministry.

For the last 19 years, we,  at Berean have strived to be all that God has called us to be. As we look to the future, “We walk by faith and not by sight” because greater is he that is in us then he that is in the world! The light of Christ is ever shining here at Berean. We are committed to never letting the light of Christ Going Out here in Santa Clarita or anywhere around the world.
